[02/19/2002] Bill Ford announces FoMoCo will produce the GT-40 supercar!

By: -

Today, during a hush-hush afternoon employee meeting at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, Bill Ford announced to all Ford Employees on hand that FoMoCo would produce the GT-40 high-performance concept car unveiled at the 2002 North American International Autoshow. As of yet, no timeline or price tag was disclosed; however, expect that it will be at least a 2003 model or later. The anticipated price tag for this light-weight, 500 hp monster will probably be at least $100,000. Although, we''re hoping that some how Ford will be able to keep it just under the six figure mark to have competitive pricing with the Dodge Viper.

For more information and photos of the GT-40 concept, see our previous GT-40 news from its unveiling.
