Stand Tall: A how-to on tall valve covers
As we make our Mustangs go faster we make changes to the valvetrain that at some point necessitate taller than stock valve covers to fit. Some like the "racy" look of taller valve covers but to the hard core enthusiast they serve a bigger purpose. The most common reason to use tall valve covers is to be able to fit aftermarket roller rockers and valvetrain stabilizers more commonly known as stud girdles. However, before you decide to simply bolt on a set of those polished, tall, Motorsport val...

[11/21/2002] Classic Design Concepts with a Race Flare

By: -

WALLED LAKE, MI - Appearance packages taken to the next level…the performance level. Classic Design Concepts has combined their restyling components with a unique paint job on a Body-in-White to create an Open Track Race Vehicle….this race car doesn’t just have a good performance it has looks to!

Starting with a “body in white” out of Ford’s Dearborn Assembly Plant, CDC painted it a stain Dark Titanium with the CDC components painted a metallic Apple Green for a unique race flare.

The CDC Racing Mustang Coupe is equipped with a 32-valve DOHC Cobra engine. This racer highlights many of CDC’s products available for Mustang’s today.

CDC components and systems included in the build are

o Grille Eliminator Kit
o Stars and Stripes Horse
o Shaker Hood Scoop
o Side Exhaust System including front and rear spatz and rocker moldings

Race component and systems are:

o A full roll cage
o Auto Meter tachometer and gauges
o Sparco EVO 2 bucket seats
o Simpson 5 Point Harness and window nets
o Fuel Systems Fuel cell

CDC specked a Mustang console and carpet in the front seat area but other than these couple of civilizing amenities, it’s bare bones climb-through-the –roll-cage, sheet steal and aluminum.

CDC is the distributor for Ford for Mustang bodies, offering drag and road racers for $1400.00 each. They are available from the production process for reasons associated with them not being up to Ford Motor Companies appearance standards.
