[04/27/2007] FordRacing.com changes, makes everyone a racing insider

By: -

Beginning April 25, racing fans worldwide can become part of Team Ford Racing with a free membership at www.fordracing.com

Fordracing.com, arguably one of the most popular auto racing sites hosted by an auto manufacturer with more than three million visitors last year and more than 34 million hits, gives readers inside news access to all of Ford’s major racing programs.

Among the racing series fans can get inside news about are NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck; NHRA drag racing; Grand-American sports cars, USAC midget racing and the World Rally Championship. Fans can also get information about Ford Racing merchandise, performance parts, and specialty vehicles from Ford.

“Team Ford Racing is proud to offer a "free" General membership to everyone who comes to our site and registers,” said Tim Duerr, Business Development Manager, Ford Racing Technology. “All people have to do is visit fordracing.com, fill out a free membership form and they become part of the Ford Racing team.”

Created in 1999, along with the Team Ford Racing fan club, the site’s ‘insider’ information was previously only available to paid TFR members, but now is open to anyone registered as a General member.

The interactive site features race schedules, recaps and results; team and driver biographies and quotes; photo galleries; feature stories; information on TFR events; ticket information; message boards; polls; downloads and a weekly TFR newsletter to keep you up to date on all that is Ford Racing.

Ford racing fans can also become a Winner’s Circle member for $24.95, which includes access to everything on the website, along with the “Inside the Oval” magazine, published 11 times a year, and discounts to more than 50 crew members including Hertz, hotels.com, the Ford Collection and Ticketmaster.
