New axle-back exhaust controls drone in high-horsepower, late-model Mustangs CORSA(r) Performance Exhausts has developed the new Ultimate Touring Exhaust - a full axle-back exhaust system designed to tame some of the thunder of 2005 and newer highly modified V8 Mustangs. The Ultimate Touring Exhaust utilizes CORSA's patented Reflective Sound Cancellation(tm) (RSC) technology to tone down the wide range of sound frequencies that are found in high-horsepower Mustangs that have been modified with headers, high-flow catalytic converters, superchargers, head and cam packages and more. "Any serious modification to late-model Mustangs can result in a very loud engine that can aggravate neighbors and draw unwanted attention. With our Ultimate Touring Exhaust, we've developed a way to soften the harsh exterior sounds by targeting high frequency sound waves," said Jim Browning Sr., founder and president, CORSA Performance Exhaust. "With CORSA's exclusive RSC technology, we eliminate the drone to deliver a quiet but aggressive note at low-throttle and cruising speeds all while maintaining the deep, powerful tone that Mustang owners desire during acceleration and at full throttle." CORSA's Ultimate Touring Exhaust is a dual rear exit system with single 4.0-inch Pro Series Tips. In tests conducted by the company, the Ultimate Touring muffler reduced the exterior sound level by 10 decibels against a standard performance muffler. Featuring straight-through, non-restricted design and mandrel-bent, premium stainless steel construction, the new system also provides additional horsepower, increased torque and improved fuel economy to Mustang owners. Handcrafted in the United States, CORSA's Ultimate Touring Exhaust is 50-state emissions legal. Depending on the engine, catalytic converter and header combination of the vehicle, this system may comply with the requirements of the SAE J1169 sound level measurement standard. They carry a limited lifetime warranty, require no welding and come with complete installation hardware and an illustrated installation guide. Installation instructions and part numbers can be found online at www.corsaperformance.com. Ultimate Touring exhaust systems can be purchased direct from CORSA Performance and through performance retailers nationwide.
