[03/03/2009] Toyo Tires Adds Nine New Sizes to Their Line of Passenger Car, Light Truck and SUV Tires

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has added nine new sizes to their full line of passenger car, light truck and SUV tire products since November. The new size offerings are diverse in their applications, from luxury passenger cars, to hi-risers, light trucks and street legal competition tires. The Toyo® Versado® LX is the company's premium luxury passenger car tire which is renowned for its comfortable and quiet ride due to design elements such as Silent Wall™ technology. Three new offerings include a 215/50R16, 215/55R18 and 235/45R18 for vehicles such as the Volvo S40, Dodge Avenger R/T & SXT, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and more. The ultra-high performance segment benefits from a new 245/45ZR19 Proxes® T1R™ for cars such as BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XJ8 and Lexus LS460L. Extreme performance drivers get a new 225/45ZR17 Proxes® R1R™ which delivers razor sharp handling to cars such as Acura RSX, Audi A3 and TT, BMW 3 and Z4, Nissan Sentra SE-R, Subaru WRX STI and VW Jetta and GTi. Moving to the far end of the size spectrum, a new 265/25ZR30 Proxes® 4 is available exclusively for hi-riser passenger car applications.

Street legal R-compound competition tire enthusiasts get a new size of the Proxes® R888™ which is the Official Tire of SPEED World Challenge® and spec tire for the SCCA® National Spec Miata series. This new 265/30ZR19 Proxes R888 builds on a large offering of competition sizes available from Toyo Tires.

Pickup and SUV owners get two new sizes in a great highway tire. The venerable Open Country® H/T, known for its longevity, great handling and comfortable ride, now includes a P265/65R18 for vehicles such as Chevy SUVs, Cadillac's Escalade and the Hummer H3. A new LT285/75R16 size of the Open Country H/T provides a Load Range E offering for full-size pickups.

During this same time, Toyo Tires introduced their first street legal drag radial, the Proxes® TQ. It is currently available in six sizes, ranging from 16- to 18-inches in rim diameter.
