Stand Tall: A how-to on tall valve covers
As we make our Mustangs go faster we make changes to the valvetrain that at some point necessitate taller than stock valve covers to fit. Some like the "racy" look of taller valve covers but to the hard core enthusiast they serve a bigger purpose. The most common reason to use tall valve covers is to be able to fit aftermarket roller rockers and valvetrain stabilizers more commonly known as stud girdles. [07/16/2001] Norwalk eliminations report, videos, and photos

By: -

Race Sunday is here! The day was filled with tons of bracket racing as well as class eliminations. Don Walsh Jr. took the Pro 5.0 crown while Jim Summers nailed a round one pass in the 6-second zone at nearly 200 mph! Outlaw saw the all too familiar car of Dan Millen trailer the rest of the field with a string of 7-second passes. Meanwhile over in Renegade, Bart Tobener pretty much dominated the field and took home the win. In Street Bandit, Duane Busch overcame his peers in the tough naturally aspirated class.

C.W. Barber''s 11.40''s proved to be quick enough to overtake the rest of the Trophy Stock field. And the growing Modular class was won by Lupe Davila''s hybrid consisting of the ever increasing in popularity modular engine transplanted into an earlier Fox chassis Mustang. Davila''s win in Top Truck completed the double whammy weekend win for him. These classes along with yesterday''s True Street race, which by itself consisted of a field of over 140 cars, made for one fine race weekend. In this True Street class, John Burton averaged 10.30''s and dodged the 8-second bullet of Lee Howie.
