Stand Tall: A how-to on tall valve covers
As we make our Mustangs go faster we make changes to the valvetrain that at some point necessitate taller than stock valve covers to fit. Some like the "racy" look of taller valve covers but to the hard core enthusiast they serve a bigger purpose. The most common reason to use tall valve covers is to be able to fit aftermarket roller rockers and valvetrain stabilizers more commonly known as stud girdles. [07/18/2001] Amtech? Signs Parnelli Jones as Spokesperson for RollGard?

By: -

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA ? Amtech? Corporation, manufacturer of the patented RollGard? Suspension Stabilizer System, recently signed Parnelli Jones as spokesperson. Jones is the winner of the 1963 Indy 500, and has garnered several significant wins and championship victories in a variety of motorsports venues including the grueling Baja 1000 off road race and the SCCA Trans Am Championship in 1970. For his extensive contributions to racing, both as a driver and a team owner, he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Amtech?s RollGard is an innovative counter-spring system which has been designed to improve handling and reduce body lean which reduces the chance of a rollover on vehicles such as SUV?s and light pickups. Another benefit of the RollGard system is increased stability for trailer towing or side winds, and a smoother ride through abrupt dips. The simple-to-install RollGard has been painstakingly engineered to move the roll-center of the vehicle toward the outside edges where vehicles are less prone to extreme lean angles. This system prevents the sudden "rebound" of a vehicle?s suspension system during transitional maneuvers, a condition which has been blamed for SUV rollovers.

Parnelli Jones experienced such a rollover first-hand in an SUV earlier this year. Since that incident, Jones tested RollGard on his personal vehicle and believes everyone should install this system on their SUV?s, light trucks and vans. He further insists "it is the best way to correct a potential hazard before it occurs."

RollGard is available at all Checker Auto Parts, Schuck?s Auto Supply and Kragen Auto Parts stores located in nearly 1,500 locations around the U.S. To learn more about the RollGard by Amtech and to locate the nearest distributor, contact Amtech Corporation, 3120 Venture, Las Vegas, NV 89101, telephone 888-880-8949, or visit their web site at www.amtechsprings.com.
