[01/30/2001] GMS Assumes Role of Pro-M West

By: -

The rumors had been circulating for over a year! The on again off again relationship of both J.R. Granatelli, currently Granatelli Motorsports, Inc. and long time boost behind Paxton Products Superchargers and Fuel Systems and Jim Gonzales of Pro-M / Best Products and their supposed merger were just that, a big rumor. Now the facts are in and the story can be told.

Granatelli Motorsports, Inc. will now also be know as Pro-M West. J.R. Granatelli will assume the role as Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing for all of Pro-M / Best Products including the Detroit Operation. This will allow Pro-M to focus their efforts on new product development for all aspects including but not limited to OEM consultation, OEM new product development, aftermarket OE replacement parts and most importantly after market high performance parts.

Jim Gonzales said, "We can''t think of a better way to expand our business. J.R. and his strong technical knowledge of automotive electronics coupled with his unsurpassed salesmanship just seems like the perfect fit". Bob Atwood, designer of the now famous Pro-M 77 and a pioneer of go fast goodies for all EFI Ford cars and trucks said, "J.R. adds new blood to our organization and he''s just what the doctor ordered. Now we have someone that can bring to market all the wonderful products we have designed and I''m sure they will make a huge impact on today''s highly sophisticated computer controlled automobiles."

"This deal has been a long time coming. Pro-M and their strong engineering background, coupled with their ability to design and develop up to date 50 state legal products now affords Granatelli Motorsports the luxury of focusing on our job at hand, the sales and marketing of both company''s products."

The company''s collaboration now positions them as the premier designers of Mass Airflow Sensors for all foreign and domestic cars and trucks from model years 1986 to present. Pro-M and Granatelli Motorsports, Inc. are the only companies to achieve 50-state legal exemption on all OE and high performance replacement Mass Airflow Sensors. The mass airflow sensor is considered by many to be the more crucial ingredient to achieve 50-state legal increased performance and proper calibration of today''s complex engine management systems. Mass airflow sensors control most fuel and spark tables in the ECU.
